My sister told me my cookies were 'pretty but boring' and it actually fixed my baking
She said it at Thanksgiving in front of everyone and I was a little mad, but she was right, every cookie I made looked perfect and tasted like plain sugar. So I started adding a pinch of salt to the top of each one and browning my butter first instead of just melting it. Took me about 4 batches to get it right, but now people actually ask for my cookies by name at family stuff. If someone close to you says your bakes taste flat, listen to them even if it stings at first. What's the one bit of feedback that actually made your baking better?
