Just realized Troll 2 is not a so bad it's good movie and I'm tired of pretending it is
I hosted a bad movie night in my garage in Sacramento two weeks ago and put Troll 2 on for a group of 9 people who had never seen it, and 4 of them fell asleep before the popcorn ran out. The movie is just boring, not funny bad. There are like 3 scenes people actually quote and the other 91 minutes are a family standing around in a rental house in Utah talking about nothing. Real so bad it's good needs a movie that swings for the fences and misses, like a budget or a crazy director who fully believed in the thing. Troll 2 is just a bunch of amateur actors who didn't know any better, and laughing at that feels cheap to me. Give me something like Miami Connection, where the guy is doing his own stunts and writing his own songs and it's all sincere. Does anyone else think the internet just picked Troll 2 at random and nobody wants to admit it's a slog?
