Thought my shed base would take a weekend, ended up being 3 months because of one dumb mistake
I poured a 10x12 concrete slab for my shed last April and thought I was done in two days. The problem was I built the forms on grass that sloped about 4 inches, and the first pour cracked right down the middle after a heavy rain. I spent the next 6 weeks tearing it out with a sledgehammer and $60 in broken bits, then had to rent a plate compactor for $85 to fix the dirt underneath. Now I see guys on here say gravel is better than concrete for sheds, but my neighbor swears his 12 year old slab is still perfect. What did you use for your base and how long did it really take you?
