I was in my old neighborhood in Cincinnati and the sheds look totally different now

I mean, I grew up there in the 90s and every backyard had this simple wooden shed, maybe 8 by 10 feet, just for the mower and some tools. I walked around last week and it's all these big, fancy structures now, like mini houses with windows and electricity. My friend's new place even has a 12 by 16 foot one they use as a home office. It just feels like the whole idea of a backyard shed changed from basic storage to an extra room. Has anyone else seen this shift where you live?

Honestly, my shed is still that sad 90s box full of spiders and a broken lawnmower. Tbh it's basically just a raccoon Airbnb at this point. Saw my neighbor's new one though, it's got a little porch light and everything. Makes my rusty toolbox palace look even more pathetic.

Lol @fiona_webb you just described my whole situation. My shed's got a hole in the roof so now it's basically a free bird bath. Found an old flower pot in there last week that was growing a whole new kind of mold. That neighbor porch light is a total flex, mine just has a sad string of dead Christmas lights from like 2003.

Hold on, those Christmas lights from 2003 probably still work if you just replace the fuse. I had a strand from 2004 that kept going out, and I finally figured out the little glass fuse in the plug was blown. But your moldy flower pot situation is NEXT LEVEL, man. That's a whole ecosystem you've got going in there. At least you're getting some free bird entertainment, I guess. Might want to check if that mold is the kind that glows in the dark though, could be a free light source.
