I finally gave up on my shed door and now it just leans there like a drunk uncle
Three years ago I built a 10x12 shed in my backyard in Erie and the door has been the one thing I could never get right. I hung it myself, shimmed it, planed the edge twice, and by last summer it was catching so bad at the bottom that you had to shoulder it like a linebacker to get the mower out. Last month my neighbor Dale came over, looked at it for maybe 8 seconds, and said "your frame is out of square, no hinge is gonna save that." He was right, but I had already bought and returned two sets of hinges and a $40 jamb kit, so I was not in the mood. I pulled the door off, and now it just leans against the shed wall because honestly it works better as a prop than a door. My wife asked when I was going to fix it and I said I'm in the planning phase, which means I think about it every time I walk past. Anybody got a trick for squaring up a frame without tearing the whole shed apart, or do I just build a new door and pretend the old one never happened?
