Visited a friend's coop in Springfield and saw they keep a rooster with their four hens.

He says it keeps the peace and the girls are happier, but I've always heard roosters cause more trouble with noise and aggression. What's your take on having a rooster in a small backyard flock?

Yeah, checking the ordinances is key. A lot of places have quiet hours that start way earlier than you'd expect.
