Spent 11 hours chasing a phantom fault on a Garmin G1000 that turned out to be a loose cannon plug pin
Kept swapping LRUs and reflashing software on a King Air 200 in Wichita before I finally wiggled the harness and saw the voltage jump. Anyone else ever waste a full shift on a connector that looked perfectly seated?
Wiggling a harness for 11 hours straight is wild, I would have lost my mind way before that. The part that gets me is how a pin can look perfectly seated and still be the whole problem, that's some evil gremlin stuff right there. I've seen guys pull their hair out swapping black boxes when it was just a pin not fully clicked into the connector body. You start assuming it has to be something big and expensive, so you skip right past the dumb simple stuff. A loose cannon plug pin on a King Air is about as dumb and simple as it gets, but it'll still eat your whole day. Bet you never trusted a "seated" connector again after that shift.
