Am I the only one who refuses to sign off on a repair without a full pitot static leak check?
Had a Citation come in last Tuesday at our hangar in Wichita with a static line that looked fine on a quick wiggle test. The night shift signed it off and the plane flew two legs before the crew reported erratic altitude readings, which turned out to be a cracked fitting behind the panel. I spent 6 hours redoing the whole run and now I do a full leak check no matter how simple the job looks. That 20 minute test would have caught it on the ground. How many of you actually run the full check every time or do you trust your eyes like that guy did?
