My uncle ran cars for 20 yrs and says online reviews are mostly noise, I think he's half right
He worked the I-95 corridor out of Newark hauling dealer trades. Told me straight up that 4 star reviews come from people who never actually checked their car. Said the real tells are things nobody photographs. Delivery window, how the driver talks on the phone, whether they ask about your car's clearance before quoting. He said he'd rather trust a guy with 12 reviews who's been running 15 yrs than a broker with 400 5 stars. I pushed back on him. Said that's just survivor bias. But two buddies got burned in the past 8 months, one on a Corolla from Tampa to Denver, and both times the glowing reviews were from people who shipped a beater and didn't care. Now I'm not so sure. Anyone here actually dodged a bad carrier because of something small in the reviews instead of the star count?
