Got a $340 quote to snake a drain, so I rented a $47 auger at the Home Depot on Ponce and it worked
Had a slow kitchen sink in my place over in Decatur and two plumbers quoted me around $340 to clear the line. I rented a 25 foot auger from the Home Depot on Ponce for $47, watched one video, and pulled out a wad of grease and coffee grounds the size of my fist. Took me 40 mins and I was honestly scared I'd wreck the pipes, but everything drains fine now. I learned most of that quote was just the trip charge since they won't touch a drain for less. Has anyone here tried this on a main line or is that where I should actually call someone?
