Tried stacking moon shots with my phone vs my old DSLR at Crater Lake and the difference was honestly embarrassing
Went out to Crater Lake last weekend with both setups because I wanted to compare. My phone did this automatic night mode thing that made the moon look like a glowing smear with zero crater detail, but my beat up 12 year old DSLR with a $90 used lens pulled out actual craters and that little Tycho ray pattern. I sat there at the rim for like 40 minutes just switching back and forth like an idiot, and the phone shots looked like a flashlight behind fog every single time. Anyone else find that phone moon pics are basically a joke once you zoom in, or am I just bad at holding still?
