Pro tip: turn off long exposure noise reduction and stack 20 frames instead
I was shooting Orion from my driveway in Tucson last month and my stars kept coming out soft because the camera was locking up for 30 seconds after every 30 second shot for dark frame subtraction. So I switched that setting off and just grabbed 20 lights at 15 seconds each with 10 darks, then stacked them in DeepSkyStacker. Way more keepers and I can actually get through a session before my fingers go numb. Anyone else moved to stacking over in camera NR, or do you still run both?
