Honestly, my buddy said my Milky Way shots look like 'noisy oatmeal'

He was looking at a stack I took from my backyard in Phoenix last weekend, shot at ISO 3200. Tbh, it kinda hurt but he's not wrong about the grain. What's the highest ISO you guys push to before the noise gets too bad for a decent photo?

Ugh, I feel that... my old camera was a noisy mess past 1600.

What did you end up switching to? I had a camera like that... it was basically useless in dim light.
