PSA: that $85 'soil sifter' I bought online was a total waste until I hit the right dirt
Bought an 85 dollar sifting screen with 1/4 inch mesh for my dig site near Abilene last spring and the first three weekends it clogged up on wet clay and I nearly tossed it in the truck bed. Then we moved to a sandy midden pit and that same screen pulled 30 flakes and two broken points in one afternoon while everyone else was picking by hand. So now I have no idea if I wasted money or saved my whole season. Anyone else got a tool that only pays off in one specific kind of dirt?
