A client's question about a willow stump made me laugh and think

I was finishing a removal of a huge weeping willow in Decatur last week, and the homeowner, a retired teacher, came out to look at the stump. She pointed at it and asked, completely serious, 'So, if I water this, will it grow back into a bench?' She'd seen one of those art pieces where a stump is carved into a seat. I had to explain that no, the tree was gone for good, but we could certainly talk about carving options. It was a funny mix of hope and not quite getting how trees work. Has anyone else had a client mistake a removal for a weird kind of pruning?

Honestly that's a pretty sweet idea though.

The last time someone pitched me a sweet idea, it turned into a three hour meeting about branded water bottles. What's the actual plan to make this happen?
