The old drum puller my mentor swore by vs. the new bearing splitter kits
Back in 2005, my first boss in Akron made me use a three-jaw puller and a torch on every washer drum bearing job, took me almost two hours each time. Last month I finally caved and bought one of those $130 bearing splitter kits off the truck, and I had a direct drive drum apart in 25 minutes flat. Do you guys stick with the old ways because they're proven, or have you all made the jump to the newer specialty tools too?

I used to fight the new stuff too but that splitter kit changed my whole mind.
