Found a 1978 Maytag washer repair manual at a garage sale in Toledo for 50 cents
I picked up this old repair manual at a garage sale in Toledo two weekends ago for 50 cents, mostly just because it looked cool. Flipping through it, I found a section about how back then they expected a service call to last under 25 minutes, and the manual tells you to clean the water inlet screens BEFORE you even pull the cabinet. I did that on the next two machines I worked on and both times the screens were so clogged that was the whole problem. Has anyone else tried that on newer front loaders, or does the screen thing stop working after they started putting them behind the valve?
