A cheap capacitor meter saved me 3 hours on a no-start whirlpool

Tbh I chased a compressor that wouldn't kick on for two visits until a buddy told me to test the run cap under load with a $25 meter from Amazon, and it caught a 5% tolerance drift that my old ohmmeter missed, anyone else trust those budget meters for this?

Sounds about right, two trips for a cap that costs less than lunch. Those cheap meters are hit or miss though, I've had one read fine on a bench test and then lie to me once it warmed up, so now I test the cap twice, cold and after it's been running a bit. For 25 bucks it's still worth having in the bag just for the "is it totally dead or not" call.
