Vent: That guy who told me to skip episode 16 was totally wrong

On a MyAnimeList thread, someone named KaitoRex said I could jump from episode 15 to 19 of the 2019 series and not miss anything 'important'. I trusted it, watched episode 19, and the whole emotional weight of a character betrayal made zero sense. Went back and rewatched 16 through 18 two nights ago in Kalamazoo, and sure enough, episode 16 plants the knife that gets pulled later. Has anyone else gotten burned by episode-skip advice from random forum users, and how do you screen those recommendations now?
