Can we talk about how I gave up on fixing my grandpa's cassette deck and then a $4 part changed my mind?
I had the thing open on my kitchen table in Toledo for 3 weekends and could not get the belts to stop slipping, so I shoved it in a closet and figured it was dead. Then a guy at the flea market handed me a little rubber idler tire for 4 bucks and said the old one was just glazed, and it spun right up. Anyone else get saved by one dumb cheap part right when you were ready to quit?
