Just realized my $12 kitchen timer beats the app I used for 6 months of dev

For the past 6 months I was using a free dev app on my phone to time my C-41 developer, and my colors kept coming out slightly green. Last week my phone died mid-batch so I grabbed the cheap kitchen timer from my stove and just used that. Did three rolls since then and every single one came out with clean, neutral tones. Turns out the app had a tiny delay when I hit start and my dev times were off by almost 20 seconds each time. Has anyone else noticed phone timers being slow for color work, or was I just unlucky with that one?

Same thing happened to me, now I just use a cheap digital timer.
