I finally re-wrote the ending to 'The Dark Knight Rises' last week

For years, my go-to idea was that Bruce Wayne actually died in the bomb blast, and Alfred's cafe scene was just a fantasy. I changed it after watching it again and thinking the real ending felt too neat. Now I think he should have lived, but been badly hurt and stuck in the cave, with Blake having to become Batman for real. Has anyone else tried to fix a 'happy' ending that felt forced?

Oh man, rewriting movie endings is my secret hobby... my notes app is full of them. I once spent a whole weekend trying to make the ending of a rom-com less perfect, and my own life was way messier than the plot. Your stuck-in-the-cave idea is way better than my old one, which was just Batman getting really into gardening.
