Hot take: my AI image tool was trained on my own old designs and I did not notice for 3 weeks
I was using one of those AI logo makers for a client project in Portland last month and kept getting shapes that felt weirdly familiar, like I had seen them at 2am before. Then I realized the tool was pulling from a style profile it built off the 60 logos I uploaded back when I first signed up, so I was basically paying $29 to fight my own past work. Is that a me problem for uploading too much, or should these tools tell you they are learning from your stuff?
The "60 logos I uploaded" thing is the part that matters here. Most of those tools do disclose that they learn from your uploads, it's just buried in a settings page nobody reads.
